Abstract
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of acute acceleration on gastric acid secretion and plasma gastrin concentration in pyloric ligated rats. Twenty two male rats were divided into two groups;l0 rats(accelerated group) which was exposed to +Gz acceleration and 12 rats(operated control group) which was restrained in boxes without exposure to +Gz acceleration. After 24 hrs of fast with water ad libitum, the pyrolus of rat was ligated. Rats were exposed to -I-6Gz acceleration five times for 30 mins(duration 30 seconds) and then transfer into the animal cages for 2.5 hrs. At the end of experiment, gastric juice and blood were collected. Gastric acidity and plasma gastrin concentration was measured. +6Gz acceleration decreased significantly the gastric juice volume and acid output but did not the acidity. And plasma gastrin concentration was not changed after the acceleration exposure. It is inferred above results that +Gz acceleration decreased the gastric acid secretion but did not plasma gastrin concentration.
